OFFICIAL BIOGRAPHY OF BILL SCHUBERT
Bill Schubert is a home grown trial lawyer. He attended 5th through 12th grade in the Rifle school system, graduating from Rifle High School in 1984.
Bill graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. He then attended Baylor Law School because of its emphasis on training trial attorneys. Bill became licensed in Texas in 1994 and joined a Texarkana, Texas litigation firm as an associate attorney. The next year he became licensed in Arkansas. After 5 years as an associate, he became a partner and two years later a name partner.
While practicing in Texas, Bill became board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. This certification required Bill to pass a rigorous written examination, to successfully pass a peer review examination by attorneys and judges familiar with his legal competence and ethics, and to serve as lead attorney or “first chair” in a number of jury trials. Bill worked on hundreds of personal injury cases, including auto and truck accidents, medical malpractice and nursing home liability cases, and products liability and explosion cases. He has also handled a number of cases in the areas of employment discrimination, sexual harassment, construction law, consumer credit and deceptive trade practices.
At the request of several Texas judges, Bill also became involved in the defense of capital murder defendants. He became qualified to serve as a first chair trial lawyer in death penalty cases, working as a second chair attorney in one capital trial and as lead counsel another. He also acted as lead appellate counsel in four capital appeals. He also handled many other felony cases in Texas and Arkansas state courts as well as the United State’s District Courts for the Eastern District of Texas and Western District of Arkansas.
Bill served on the Texarkana, Texas city council for almost 4 years.
In 2006, Bill joined the Law Firm of Ted Hess, P.C. because he wanted to return home to Colorado. He plans to continue handling personal injury cases, criminal cases and general civil litigation cases.
Bill is married to the former Jill Eidson, who also attended Rifle High School. Bill and Jill have two sons and a daughter.
